Can someone help me compare Harry potter and the order of the phoenix to the other harry potter books?

Well, I’m not going to do your homework for you, but here are a few things you can look at. It’s a little less daunting if you know what you are looking for.

Is the 5th book darker than the rest? Is it a turning point? Why is this book important to the rest of the series, and why is it right where it is? For example, because it’s when the ministry excepted that Voldemort was back, things changed, and set the scene for the books, or it’s the first personal death Harry has had to deal with.

What about the other characters? How do they change in this book (or how does the reader view them differently) that prepares them for the upcoming books?

How does Harry relate to the others around him? How is he growing as a character?
