Is there any COMPETENT, FREE software to make your own Trading Card games and print them out?

Is there? for i found one but that sucked. And please, no irrevelant messages like “I like apple pie” or “how should I know”

In general terms, the best thing to do is to get hold of a piece of Desktop Publishing software.

There’s a decent chance you already have one (MS Publisher) on your computer, but there is a better piece of free software available.

Serif have a free version of their pageplus software available for download. I have used various versions of Pageplus over the years to create novelty or comedy inlays for games such as WWE Raw Deal, Magic and Babylon 5 – as well as a whole set of Arc system cards based on Transformers and designs for my own CCG.

It will take a little practice to get good results, but whether your planning on creating new cards for existing games (Very easy if you have a scanner) or cards for your own games, this is the best way to get good results.

There are a couple of novelty card generators for Magic on the internet, although they are of variable quality and I’ve never tried one that I really liked in terms of functionality.

So I can’t offer any quick and easy shortcuts, but if you want to design the cards yourself and have them look good, getting hold of a piece of DTP software is your best bet.
