Are there a lot of white or european people to already be muslim or convert to islam?

I never heard of and it is rare to me to have seen a white or european person to already be muslim or convert to islam. There has to be at least some that have but i find it rare? So are there truly a lot out there?

I have seen a lot of asian and african people who are but other than that it is rare to me? Why is this?
