Collecting Baseball Cards is a fun and enjoyable hobby that anyone can start, since it takes very little capital and you are able to interact with other people that share the same interest. Many people start sports card collecting at a young age either because they want to follow their favorite sports player or favorite sports team.

It’s always fun to open a pack of cards and wonder what you’ll find. The rush of finding a valuable card from a pack that you only paid a few dollars for would make anyone’s day.

Many sports card collectors establish their own niche. They either collect cards of one particular athlete, team, or sport. This can pay huge dividends to the sports collector if the athlete outperforms through their sports career. If an athlete is inducted into the Hall of Fame in their respective field, the sports card collector has a chance to turn a 10,000% profit from their initial investment.

Trading card manufacturers have become more sophisticated throughout the years. Originally, these card companies would place a piece of bubblegum in each pack to entice a collector to purchase a pack of cards. Now, sports card companies place special limited edition inserts into certain packs. These inserts, which include signed cards, special redemption cards, and pieces of sports memorabilia, are worth hundreds of dollars in the secondary market because of the limited quantity available.

Businesses then started to create trading card packs called, “Mystery Packs.” These mystery packs were packs with cards from all different types of manufacturers with different caliber of cards. Some cards were worth the minimum, while others were worth hundreds of dollars. What attracts people to these, “Mystery Packs,” is that they have a chance to open a pack of trading cards that has a value worth a couple hundred dollars, while they only paid a few dollars for the pack.

Mystery Packs are more valuable then regular trading card packs because their minimum value will always be equal to or great then the price you paid and the cards are a lot more valuable.
